KEUKA PARK, NY —
Senior Amy Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco)
recorded a goal and an assist to become Frostburg State's all-time scoring leader as the Bobcats downed host Keuka College, 3-1, Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, the Bobcats improved to 14-3 overall and tied the school record for wins in a season set by the 1997 squad.
The Storm opened an early 1-0 lead when Laura Hart found the net in the game's eighth minute, but the Bobcats answered behind freshman Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast).
Kotofski pulled FSU even with 20:21 left in the first half off an assist from sophomore Allison Ottey (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) and then gave the Bobcats the lead for good when she converted a pass from Foote just 1:15 before halftime.
Kotofski now has a team-high 18 goals on the year and is just two away from tying Danielle Pickar's single-season school record of 20 set in 1996. She also leads FSU with 42 points and is only four shy of Picker's single-season mark, also set in 1996.
Foote scored with 14:54 remaining in the game, off an assist from Kotofski, giving her 111 career points, one more than Erin Hawley's former mark established in 1997.
Bobcat sophomore goalie Stephanie Zych (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland) made 10 saves to improve to 14-3 on the year.
The 14 wins is another single-season school record, surpassing Sharon Colantonio's 1996 mark of 13.
Frostburg State returns to action on Friday, October 19 when it visits Grove City at 4:00 p.m.
