Foote Ties Career Goals Record as Women's Soccer Blasts Pitt-Bradford
10/06/2001

BRADFORD, PA — Senior Amy Foote (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) tied the school's career goals record, and freshman Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast) and junior Tiffany Parker (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) each had three goals and two assists to lead Frostburg State to a 9-0 blitzing of Pitt-Bradford in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon.

Foote sent in a left-footed shot from just outside the box with 29:35 remaining in the game for her 43rd career goal, tying Erin Hawley's school record set in 1997.

Foote also added an assist in the first half, giving her 104 career points, just six away from Hawley's all-time mark also set in 1997.

Frostburg State (12-2, 4-0 AMCC) got on the board early and often, thanks primarily to Kotofski and Parker. Kotofski opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game when she found the net off a feed from Parker, and Kotofski returned the favor with an assist on Parker's first goal of the afternoon just 61 seconds later.

The Bobcats needed only two more minutes to take a 3-0 lead as freshman Becky Rambo (Freeland, Md./Hereford) sent in a shot off a pass from fellow freshman Erika Neuser (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston).

Kotofski capped her third hat trick of the season with her 13th and 14th goals later in the first half to give the Bobcats a commanding 5-0 lead at the break. She now leads the team with 14 goals, six assists and 34 points.

Parker capped her first career hat trick with a pair of goals in a span of 1:29 early in the second half, before Foote's record-tying tally off an assist from Neuser.

Freshman Aimee Sprague (South Yarmouth, Mass./South Yarmouth) closed out the scoring with 22:11 left when she knocked home a feed from freshman Laurie Reinholt (Middletown, Del./Glasgow) off a corner kick.

Sophomore Stephanie Zych (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland) made one save to improve to 12-2.

The Bobcats outshot the Panthers, 24-2.

Foote will look to break the Frostburg State scoring record tomorrow when the Bobcats host Penn State Altoona, a first-year program, in another AMCC match at 1:00 p.m.
