FROSTBURG, MD —
Frostburg State University has added a commuter option to its Third Annual FSU Volleyball School for girls ages 10-18 this summer at the Harold J. Cordts Physical Education Center.
The commuter option is available for the individual skills session to be held July 25-29 and will run 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday.
Commuter tuition is $200 and includes lunch.
The FSU Volleyball School will be directed by Bobcat head volleyball coach Jeff Billington, who guided FSU to its sixth Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in seven years and a second straight appearance in the Division III NCAA Tournament.
The camp will also feature Bobcat assistant coach Sarah Deuel as well as coaches from Dartmouth, George Mason, Depauw and Gettysburg.
The FSU Volleyball School will offer the best volleyball instruction in the fundamental mechanics of forearm passing, overhead setting, over- and underhand serving, blocking, digging and spiking.
Counselors will focus on team strategies and tactics, and players will put their skills to use in individual and team competitions in the evening.
FSU’s outstanding facilities will allow for up to nine courts in the Cordts P.E. Center, and campers will have access to the indoor swimming pool and rock climbing wall during evening free time.
Registration forms and a full brochure are available on the internet at http://sports.frostburg.edu/camps/vbschool.htm or by calling Coach Billington at (301) 687-7014.
Both the application and a nonrefundable deposit must be received in order to reserve a place in the camp.
Registrations will be accepted on a first-come basis until the camps are filled. Participants will be notified of their acceptance via e-mail.
