ORLANDO, FL —
The Frostburg State athletic department has won the National Consortium for Academics and Sports Outreach and Community Service Honor Roll Award.
This award represents FSU's commitment to developing leadership in its student-athletes and caring for the community.
It also represents the department's dedication as a role model to demonstrate the ultimate goal of higher education and to develop young people as tomorrow's leaders.
"The NCAS award represents our efforts to help our athletes be responsible citizens within their communities," said Bobcat Athletic Director Ralph Brewer. "I am proud of this recognition of the work our coaches and athletes do."
The National Consortium for Academics and Sports recognizes the accomplishments of its members through the NCAS Annual Report.
Founded in 1985 with 11 members, the NCAS now has 221 members, which have collectively contributed $246 million in tuition and fees for 23,740 student-athletes to complete their degrees, and have benefited 11,493,775 young people through 12.5 million hours of outreach and community service across the nation.
