Frostburg State University Closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 30-31.
UPDATE, 10/30/12 1:30 P.M.: Because of the forecast for more snow and the severity of this storm's ongoing impact on the areas surrounding Frostburg, Frostburg State University will continue to be closed through Wednesday, Oct. 31, through the beginning of the day shift on Thursday, Nov. 1.
For those students, faculty and staff who live off campus who are without power and who can SAFELY make it to campus, the Lane University Center lounge and the Ort Library are available so you can get warm and charge your phones and computers. The locker rooms in the PE Center are available for showers. All three buildings will be open until 8 p.m. tonight unless the weather worsens dramatically before than.

Reminder: University Police are still unable to receive calls from off-campus or cell phones at the regular number. To reach them, call 240-727-9856. Call 911 if it's an emergency. If you are using an on-campus phone, they can be reached at x4222 for an emergency or x4223 for non-emergency.
UPDATE 3:20 P.M. 10/29/12: Ort Library and Lane University Center are now closed. Safety officials urge everyone to stay indoors. Avoid walking outside where you risk being hit by falling power lines, trees or branches.
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. 10/29/12:
Frostburg State University will now remain closed through Tuesday, Oct. 30, reopening at the beginning of the day shift on Wednesday, Oct. 31, pending further developments in the weather situation. All classes and events are cancelled. Essential personnel should report to work as scheduled.
Conditions are likely to deteriorate rapidly. Travel is discouraged.
The Cordts PE Center, Ort Library and the Lane University Center lounge will be open on a modified schedule and with limited staffing from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to students living on campus or within walking distance, as long as power and conditions warrant. If conditions deteriorate, these locations may also close; an announcement will be made.

Because of the storm affecting the Eastern Seaboard, Frostburg State University will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29. from the beginning of the day shift to the beginning of the day shift on Tuesday (pending further developments). All classes and events scheduled have been cancelled. Essential personnel should report to work as scheduled.
