The Frostburg State University Theatre will present the Shakespearean classic "Love's Labour's Lost" at the Performing Arts Center's Drama Theatre on Friday, Nov. 16; Saturday, Nov. 17; Thursday, Nov. 29; Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. A matinee performance is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.
Shakespeare pokes fun at pretension while exploring the power of love in a typically complex plot featuring a group of strong-willed young men who pledge to renounce women. Naturally, they become captivated by four appealing young women and must reconsider their promises. With memorable lyric passages and comic sketches, the play moves from an atmosphere of festive games and play to a more serious conclusion as the characters make discoveries about life's realities.
Tickets are $3 for students and $7 for the general public. For reservations and information, call the Department of Theatre at (301) 687-4145 Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
