GetEducated.com, a consumer watchdog group that reviews and ranks online academic program for cost, quality and credibility, has ranked Frostburg State University among its best values in AACSB-accredited online master of business administration degrees. FSU’s online MBA ranks ninth on this national list.
The online business degree rankings are based on a national survey of 69 AACSB-accredited business schools that offer 133 master of business administration degrees using distance learning technology.
“This is the result of a truly collaborative effort between our MBA coordinator, the director of Graduate Services and the faculty of the College of Business who worked together for over two years in order to launch such a high-quality online program,” said Dr. Ahmad Tootoonchi, dean of the FSU College of Business.
FSU’s College of Business ranks as the ninth most affordable online MBA program overall. Maryland residents will pay just under $12,000 for this distance MBA. Online students outside of Maryland will pay more at about $14,000. According to GetEducated.com, by comparison, the average cost for an online MBA with AACSB accreditation is $32,926. “Cost is the No. 1 factor that keeps working Americans from enrolling in higher education,” says Vicky Phillips, GetEducated.com’s founder. “FSU offers online learners in Maryland a chance at a high-quality graduate business degree through distance learning at about one-third the cost of the national average. That’s an amazing value.”
“In today’s highly complex global environment, earning a graduate degree that is based entirely on face-to-face class participation is almost impossible for many citizens of the world,” Tootoonchi said. “Our faculty developed a plan that provides students, regardless of their location, the opportunity to obtain a master of business administration degree through online learning without compromising our continuous commitment to high-quality education in the AACSB-accredited College of Business at FSU.”
FSU’s MBA is being offered fully online for the first time starting in fall 2010. Many of the required courses were available online previously, and courses are still available in face-to-face format as well. All programs offered by FSU’s College of Business are accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
