Frostburg State University’s Women’s Program Presents “Women in the Civil War”
Dana Harrison, as narrator Harriet Tubman, in “Women in the Civil War”
Frostburg State University’s Women’s Studies program will present “Women in the Civil War” on Tuesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in the Lane University Center’s Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall in commemoration of Women’s History Month. The event is free and open to the public.

Conceptualized by WMST faculty Dustin Schaffer, Mary Anne Lutz and Eleanor McConnell, and directed by Dustin Schaffer, “Women in the Civil War” is a collage of monologues characterizing the unique contributions of women during one of America’s most trying times. From women who dressed like men to fight as soldiers, to spies, nurses and wives, the program will shed new light on the conflict during its 150th anniversary.

For more information about “Women in the Civil War,” contact Dustin Schaffer at dkschaffer@frostburg.edu.

The Women’s Studies minor at FSU is a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary approach to integrating knowledge about women and gender across the academic curriculum. For more information about Women’s Studies at FSU, contact Dr. Julie Hartman at jehartman@frostburg.edu.
