Participants Invited to Create YouTube Videos Expressing What They Love Most About University
This fall, Frostburg State University invites its students and alumni to impress Web surfers with their technical skills and innovation in a special contest involving YouTube called “Frostburg: Take 5.”
To enter, participants create a video that expresses what they love most about FSU in five minutes or less. Five winners will be chosen by a panel of judges that includes Emmy award-winning TV writer/producer and FSU alumnus Greg Garcia. The best clips will be posted on a Frostburg: Take 5 YouTube channel and shown during a special screening at Palace Theatre in downtown Frostburg. The top five contestants will be awarded various prizes; the first-place winner will receive a Canon ZR830 Mini DV Camcorder and all accessories, generously donated by FSU grad Ed DeWitt of DeWitt Camera Centre in Cumberland. The deadline to submit entries to “Frostburg: Take 5” is March 7.
“Here at Frostburg State University, we believe we have a lot of truly talented students and alumni,” said Becca Ramspott, FSU’s Public Relations Specialist and a key organizer of the contest. “’Frostburg: Take 5’ invites them to add their creativity, their ingenuity, and most importantly, their voices to our own in expressing why Frostburg is such a great place to go to college. We are excited about posting contest entries on YouTube, as this is an incredibly popular online social networking site that has added new dimensions to communications and marketing.”
“Frostburg: Take 5” is jointly sponsored by FSU’s Division of Communications and Media Relations and the Department of Mass Communication. To learn more details about the contest, check out the Take 5 Web site
