Frostburg State University’s Department of Visual Arts, in partnership with the Allegany Arts Council, invites all community artists to submit their best works for a chance to be exhibited at the 2013 Community Juried Art Exhibition. Accepted artwork will be displayed at the Saville Gallery at 9 N. Centre St. in downtown Cumberland from Tuesday, Oct. 8, to Saturday, Oct. 12.
Ron Skidmore, visual arts instructor at Garrett Community College, will be this year’s juror. Artists who wish to participate may submit their entries to room 128 at FSU’s Fine Arts building from Monday, Sept. 30, to Friday, Oct. 4, between 3 and 6 p.m. Original work in any medium except video is eligible for entry. High school students are encouraged to enter as well. All participants except for high school students are required to pay a $3 entry fee for each submission.
The exhibit will conclude with a closing reception, free and open to the public, on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. For more information, contact the FSU Department of Visual Arts at 301-687-4797 or the Allegany Arts Council at 301-777-2787.
