Dance to or just come enjoy the funky tunes of local favorite, Queen City Funk & Soul, when Frostburg State University's baseball team hosts the band on Friday, Nov. 9 in the Cordts Physical Education Center Arena. The dance is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Johnny Twigg, a local youth with cancer.
The 11-piece band features music from the great horn bands of the '60s,' 70s and '80s, including such artists as James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan. Strong vocals and exciting instrumental solos have brought audiences to their feet since the band's formation in 1998. The band's first compact disc, "We've Got it Covered," was released in summer of 2000.
Parents with a paid adult admission to the dance can bring their children aged 5 to 12 to a free kids' night out in the PE Center.
Advance tickets are $6 for FSU faculty, staff and students and $10 for the general public. Tickets at the door will increase by $2 each.
