Frostburg State University Children's Theatre Productions will present "Hauncho the Hamster" on Sat., March 16, and Sun., March 17, at 2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center's F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre. A small fee will be charged at the door.
Hauncho is the lovable hamster of Kendall Kip, a young boy whose parents have left him in the care of his Aunt Leena while they look for a new home in Colorado. Kendall is confused by the absence of his parents. With the help of his friend, Hauncho, he travels into the hamster house in an attempt to find Colorado and his parents. But, of course, it wouldn't be a show if he didn't run into a group of other characters, including Shank Longfinger, the childcatcher; Profitess Palmetto, the fortune-teller and resident know-it-all and the Bewilderbeast. Wild adventure ensues as Kendall learns lessons about friendship, family and the truth.
With a running time of 40 minutes, "Hauncho the Hamster" is sure to delight and excite children of all ages and maybe teach them a thing or two as well.
