FSU Greeks Glenn Wayson and Jamie Winters Receive Awards
12/16/2011

Frostburg State University’s Glenn Wayson, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and Jamie Winters, a member of Delta Zeta sorority and assistant director of Student Activities and Greek Life at FSU, received prestigious awards at the 20-year anniversary celebration of Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s chapter, Maryland Delta, held this fall.

William Mandicott, FSU assistant vice president of Student and Community Involvement, was also initiated as a full member to the fraternity during the anniversary celebration.

Wayson is a business administration major, economics minor and recently received the Order of the Phoenix, Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s highest undergraduate award. This award is reserved for those brothers who exhibit unwavering devotion and leadership. Wayson is the Inter-Fraternity Council President for FSU and holds the position of social chair for his fraternity.

“Glenn is a very caring individual who strives to improve IFC relations as well as promote fraternal values,” Winters said. He is from Prince Frederick, Md., and is interested in private- or public-sector work after graduation, perhaps in national defense.

Winters received a certificate of appreciation from the Maryland Delta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon for her dedicated promotion and support of Greek life at FSU and the support of the Maryland Delta Chapter.

“This certificate was a surprise and meant a lot to me,” she said. “It is nice to know that thoughtfulness and compassion for Greek life are recognized by others outside of your own organization.” This spring Winters also received the Greek Life Dedication Award from the members of the FSU Greek life community.

“Working in Greek life is very rewarding when you can help others through philanthropic efforts and promote high ideals through your actions.”
