FSU Mass Communication Department Presents Mind Culture Original Music Concert
05/02/2011

The Frostburg State University Department of Mass Communication will present its eighth annual Mind Culture Original Music Project concert on Saturday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at Dante’s Bar on Main Street in Frostburg. The show will feature a variety of musical acts from Frostburg and surrounding areas.

The annual Mind Culture Original Music Project is an effort to help local and regional musical artists increase their following and to give students the real-world experience of recording and producing music.

Students in Dr. John Lombardi’s MCOM 465: Music Promotion and Production class, offered every spring semester, solicit music from the surrounding areas and, when necessary, record and produce music songs for interested artists. All songs that are submitted are considered for inclusion on the compilation CD. Some acts are invited to perform at the live show at the end of the semester.

The Mass Communication Department will also be selling this year’s compilation CD featuring musical acts such as the Naked Truth, the Velvet Undertronics, Chris Witt, Dhruva and more. CDs will be on sale for $5.

All proceeds benefit the Department of Mass Communication through the FSU Foundation, Inc.

The cover charge is $5 for the public and $3 for FSU students. For more information, contact the Mass Communication Department at 301-687-3049 or look on Facebook under Mind Culture Original Music.
