Frostburg State University Department of Music will present the FSU Percussion Ensemble in concert on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
The ensemble will perform “Big Country” by Béla Fleck (featuring Brent Mitchell on soprano saxophone), “Na Paitum” by Martin Westlake, “Old Pueblo Rag” by Alexis A. Orfaly, “A La Samba” by Mitchell Peters, “Alegre Muchacho” by Alan Abel, “Stumpy Meets the Firecracker in Stencil Forest” by Stanley Whittaker and “Bailando La Soca” by Julie Davila.
Dr. Ronald Horner is the ensemble director, with student members Ryan Atlow, Tom Harkins, Gregory Harris, Gregory Jaeger, Amanda Kiser, Hannah Lagno, Mark Mattingly, Vince Monteleone, Robert O’Neal, Colin Shultzaberger, Justin Smith, Rebecca Snow, Heather Vosburg and Erin Wheeler.
