Six piano majors from Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present a Piano Studio Recital on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
The program will include Brahms’ “Waltzes,” performed by Joy Marsiglia and David Lee; “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Good Christian Friends Rejoice,” performed by Michael Spriggs; Brahms’ “Ballade” and Copland’s “The Cat and the Mouse,” performed by Michelle Wright; and Chopin’s “Etude, Op. 10, No. 3” and Beethoven’s “Sonata in C Sharp Minor,” performed by Lee. The recital will also have Grieg’s “March of the Trolls” and Gwyneth Walker’s “Rhythms From the North Country,” performed by Marsiglia; Scarlatti’s “Sonata in D Minor,” Liszt’s “Consolation No. 2 in E Major” and Gershwin’s “Nobody but You,” performed by Matthew Purnell; and Emma Lou Diemer’s “Peace Like a River” and Ren Guang’s “Silver Clouds Chasing the Moon,” performed by Yishan Gao.
