The Frostburg State University Piano Ensemble and Faculty Piano Team will present a Ten Piano Concert on Sunday, March 13, at 3 p.m. in the FSU Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. The program will feature both a variety of classical and popular selections.
The concert will include five grand pianos and nine clavinova orchestrations and is part of the FSU Spring Piano Festival. Performing members of the FSU piano faculty include Joan DeVee Dixon, Nancy Witmer, Laura Godfrey, Chris McCabe and Ellen Putman. The student ensemble will feature Jesse Topper, Janee Johnson, Annalee Pruitt, Anita Parks and Mary Wempe.
Students from the Frostburg Dance Academy, taught by Amy Griffith, and pianist Ellen Putman will present “The Butterfly Waltz” by Ernest Seitz. The faculty piano ensemble will also accompany these young ballet students in “Waltz of the Flowers” by Tchaikovsky. The concert is free and open to the public.
