The Environmental Planning and Land Management Institute of Frostburg State University is holding its second annual Environmental Photography Contest.
Anyone over the age of 11 who lives, attends school or works in either Allegany or Garrett County is eligible to enter. This is an amateur contest (no professionals). The photographs should be environmental or natural habitat scenes of environment that defines the beauty and richness of these counties. If interested, please submit one to three 8” by 10” photographs, black and white or colored to the FSU Department of Geography, Room 202 in FSU Gunter Hall or to the Maryland Bureau of Mines, Room 309 in FSU Dunkle Hall. This year there is a combination of cash prizes and gift certificates.
The deadline for all photos is 4 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005. The award ceremony will recognize the top four finalists and will be held on Thursday, April 21, at 5 p.m. in the FSU Compton Science Center atrium. The photographs that receive a finalist award will be on display at the FSU Ort Library from April 15 to April 21.
