FSU Professor Nets 2 Great Scholarship Opportunities

Dr. Keramat Poorsoltan, a professor in the Department of Management at Frostburg State University, was recently recognized with two prestigious opportunities for scholarship and professional development.

Poorsoltan was awarded a $5,500 Sasakawa Fellowship, which supports participation in the National Faculty Development Institute on “Incorporating Japanese Studies into the Undergraduate Curriculum,” a gathering that will be held at San Diego State University from June 4 through June 22. He also was selected to participate in the National Endowment for the Humanities 2007 Summer Institute on “Berber North Africa: The Hidden Mediterranean Culture,” which will be held on the campus of Oregon State University June 25 through July 20.

Situated in the mountains of Allegany County, Frostburg State University is one of the 13 institutions of the University System of Maryland. FSU is a comprehensive, residential regional university and serves as an educational and cultural center for Western Maryland.
