Frostburg State University professors Dr. Patricia Santoro, a professor in the Department of Psychology, and Dr. Keith Schlegel, a professor emeritus in the Department of English, have been recognized with the Outstanding Mentor Award, which was presented at the FSU Career Expo Luncheon on Homecoming Weekend.
To receive this award, a faculty member must be nominated by alumni who feel that person has made a significant contribution to the academic, personal and professional development.
FSU alumna Dr. Keli Braitman was inspired by Santoro: “She is an amazing instructor who always found a way to make the material personal for her students.”
Alumna Dr. Sandy Eckard describes how Schlegel helped her though her college career: “[He] really challenged me to think before putting pen to paper. For me, that had been the one gift that is priceless.”
