Frostburg State University senior Daniel Weatherholt will perform an organ recital at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 52 Broadway in Frostburg.
Weatherholt, an organist and choirmaster at St. Johns, is pursuing an education in music and is expected to graduate this May. He is also the organist at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lonaconing and the organist and cantor on Saturday afternoons for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Little Orleans. Aside from his church duties, Weatherholt is a residential mentor at Edgewood Commons at FSU.
He is a member of the FSU Chamber Choir, University Chorale, United Campus Ministry, Episcopal Campus Ministry and the Cumberland Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
His program will include pieces by John Blow, J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms, Fred Bock, David M. Cherwien, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Emma Lou Diemer, John Bacchus Dyles, Jean-Joseph Mouret and FSU faculty member Joan DeVee Dixon.
