FSU Senior Danny Durr Will Perform Baritone Recital

Frostburg State University senior Danny Durr will perform a baritone recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the FSU Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.

The recital will include Handel’s “Arm, Arm Ye Brave,” Schumann’s “Dein Angesicht,” Bellini’s “Tre Ariette,” Bowles “Blue Mountain Ballads,” Mozart’s “Ein Madchen oder Weibchen” and “Der Vogelfanger bin ich ja,” along with selections of William Finn’s musical “Elegies: A Song Cycle,” including “Anytime (I am There),” “My Dogs,” “Saying My Goodbyes,” and “14 Dwight Ave., Natick, Mass.” Durr will be accompanied on piano by Betty Jean Phillips, and on the Finn piece “14 Dwight Ave., Natick, Mass” by soprano Olivia Hartman.

A music education major, Durr hopes to become a music teacher. He plans to open a dance studio as well, and perform on stage. Durr has studied under FSU voice teacher Dr. Karen Soderberg-Sarnaker. His past achievements include performances in musicals in the Cumberland Theatre, as well as Main Stage Shows for the FSU Department of Theatre.
