Soprano Autumn Monahan-Avila will present her senior recital Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. in Frostburg State University's Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.
Her program will include "Heidenroslein" by Franz Schubert; "Du bist die Ruh"; Auf dem Wasser su zingen"; "Apres un reve" by Gabriel Faure; "Si mes vers avaient des ailes" by Reynaldo Hahn; "Batti, Batti" and Non mi dir" from "Don Giovanni" by Mozart; "Je veux vivre" by Charles Gounod; "Al Amor," "Con Amores la mi madre," and "Del cabello mas suitil by Fernando Obradors; "Will There Really Be a Morning"; "Air"; and "The Red Dress."
Monahan-Avila will be accompanied by Betty Jane Phillips, who will be assisted by David Meyers.
The 1998 Beall High School graduate anticipates a fall 2002 graduation date, earning a bachelor of science in vocal performance. She intends to continue in graduate school, studying performance and music education. Her instructor has been Kathryn Sincell-Corwell.
She is married to David L. Avila and they have a daughter, Leigha.
