FSU Student Jaklitsch to Present Senior Piano Recital

Frostburg State University senior Amy Jaklitsch will perform her senior piano recital on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m., in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The performance is free and open to the public.

Jaklitsch will perform “Tambourin” and “Gigue en Rondeau” by Jean Philippe Rameau, “Rhythms from the North Country” by Gwyneth Walker, “Sonata in F Minor, Op. 2. No. 1” by Ludwig van Beethoven, and 12 variations on “Ah, Vous Dirai—Je Maman” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. After a brief intermission, Jaklitsch will return to perform “Poetical Tone Pictures for Piano, Opus 85” by Antonin Dvorak and “Misty” by Erroll Garner.

Jaklitsch is a music education and piano performance major at FSU. She is also a member of the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference, Friends of Music at Frostburg Steering Committee, Honors Program and Phi Eta Sigma. Jaklitsch is a winner of numerous scholarships such as the Nelson P. Guild Senior Honors Scholarship, University Scholar Award, and the Dean's List. She has future goals of becoming an elementary schools general music teacher. Jaklitsch, who plans to graduate in May 2010, is the daughter of Jim and Sharon Jaklitsch and a 2006 graduate of Hereford High School.
