Those whose interest in China was sparked by the 2008 Olympic Games or who wish they could speak Mandarin with friends or business contacts from China can expand their horizons and learn helpful conversational phrases in Mandarin by enrolling in Exploring Chinese Culture and Language, a class that will be offered through Frostburg State University's Activities for Life program on Thursdays, Feb. 5 through April 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. (No class March 19.) Class will be held in Cordts PE Center Room 105.
The 10-week course will cover useful, basic phrases that will allow students to have courteous conversations in Chinese. The class will also offer brief highlights of Chinese culture and history.
Cost for the 10-session, weekly class will be $70, plus the cost of the textbook. The payment and registration deadline is Monday, Feb. 2. For information about registration or forms, contact AFL Coordinator Amy Nazelrod at email@example.com or 301-687-7934. A minimum of 15 participants is needed.
