Activities for Life at Frostburg State University will offer preschool and beginner’s tumbling classes on Mondays, from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18, in the Cordts Physical Education Center, room 106. The beginner’s class will run through Oct. 14, and the preschool class will continue through Nov. 18.
The preschool tumbling class will meet from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and is for children ages 3 and 4. The class is limited to 15 students, with little to no formal tumbling training, and will include activities such as cartwheels, rolls and other simple movements. It will teach flexibility, strength, muscle control and coordination. Parents are required to participate with their children during all class times.
The beginner’s class will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. and is for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The class will include basic floor tumbling exercises and some work on the low balance beam. Space is limited to 15 participants, with a minimum of seven.
