FSU’s Center for Creative Writing Hosting Poet Crystal Williams Reading
Frostburg State University’s Center for Creative Writing will host a reading by poet Crystal Williams on Monday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Frostburg’s Lyric Theater at 22 E. Main St. The reading is free and open to the public.

Williams is the author of three collections of poetry, most recently, “Troubled Tongues,” winner of the 2009 Long Madgett Poetry Award and finalist for the Oregon Book Award. Her work appears or is forthcoming in “The American Poetry Review,” “The Sun,” “5AM,” “Ploughshares” and “The Norton Anthology of African American Poetry.” Originally from Detroit, Williams lives in Portland, Ore., where she teaches at Reed College. She has just completed a fourth manuscript of poems titled “Walking the Cemetery: Detroit Poems.”

The reading is sponsored by the Frostburg Center for Creative Writing, FSU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, FSU’s Department of English, the Maryland State Arts Council and the Allegany Arts Council.
