Frostburg State University’s Chamber Choir will present its Winter Concert on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 4 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington St., Cumberland, Md.
The Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. Karen Soderberg and accompanied by pianist Nancy Witmer, will perform three Renaissance motets: “It Was a Lover and His Lass” and “Since My Tears and Lamenting” by Thomas Morley and “Si Ch’io Vorrei Morire” by Claudio Monteverdi. The choir will also perform “Winter” from Peter Schickele’s “Concerto for Piano and Chorus”; “Sweet Was the Song the Virgin Sang” by Alf Houkom, featuring soprano Jamie Denton and Stephen Tunstall on guitar; Bror Samuelson’s “Ave Maris Stella” featuring soprano Britany Poindexter and tenors Lane Conklin and Christopher Delgado; “Jesu Parvule” by Andrzej Koszewski; Dale Warland’s arrangement of “El Rorro” and accompanied by Tunstall on guitar. The concert will conclude with “Sister Mary Had-a But One Child” arranged by Timothy Paul Banks.
