FSU’s Department of Music Presents a Piano Studio Recital

Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will showcase a piano studio recital on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The program will feature students from the studios of Dr. Joan DeVee Dixon and Nancy Witmer. The recital is free and open to the public.

The recital will feature Angel Leydig performing Bach’s “Prelude in C Major” and Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”; Jennifer Webb performing Clementi’s “Sonatina in C Major,” “Opus 36, No. 3”; Matthew Purnell performing Chopin’s “Mazurka in B-flat,” “Opus 7, No. 1” and Scriabin’s “Etude, Opus 2, No. 1”; Jordan Delisser performing Chopin’s “Mazurka in B Minor,” “Opus 30, No. 2” and Say’s “Black Earth”; Joy Marsiglia performing Horacek’s “Bohemian Prayer” and Bomtempo’s “Sonata in G Major”; Yazhen Lou performing Haydn’s “Sonata No. 59 in E-flat Major” and Gershwin’s “Prelude No. 1”; Erin Wheeler performing Fina’s “Bumble Boogie” and Debussy’s “What the West Wind Has Seen”; and Kienan Lewis performing Mozart’s “Variations on a Theme by Gluck” and Debussy’s “Golliwogg’s Cakewalk.” Erin Wheeler and Kienan Lewis will perform the duet, Dvorak’s “Slavonic Dance No. 8,” and Yazhen Lou and Mengwan Tu will perform the duet, Brahms’ “Two Hungarian Dances.” The recital will conclude with Mengwan Tu performing “Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.”
