FSU’s Department of Music to Present Opera Theatre

Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present its Opera Theatre performance, “Forever Love,” on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The theatre will perform various scenes from the operas “La fille du regiment” (“The Daughter of the Regiment”) by Gaetano Donizetti, “Lakme” by Leó Delibes, “Rodelinda” by Georg Frideric Handel, “Le nozze di Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Faust” by Charles Gounod, “La boheme” by Giacomo Puccini and “La cenerentola” (“Cinderella”) by Gioachino Rossini, as well as two scenes from the famous operettas “The Count of Luxembourg” by Franz Lehar and “Die Fledermaus” (“The Bat”) by Johann Strauss. The performances are free and open to the public.

The Opera Theatre director and stage director for the production is Mariana Mihai-Zoeter, and Sean Beachy is the accompanist. The opera performers are: Adam Pomeroy (Bertarido in “Rodelinda”), Allison Moses (Susanna in “Le nozze di Figaro”), Bailey Kerr (Clorinda in “The Bat”), Britany Poindexter (Lakme in “Lakme,” Marguerite in “Faust,” Angele in “The Count of Luxembourg” and Thisbe in “La cenerentola”), Christopher Delgado (Alidoro in “La cenerentola”), Jessica Schimming (Adele in “The Bat”), Jiaqi Xu (Marie in “La fille du regiment”), Joy Marsiglia (Marcellina in “Le nozze di Figaro”), Lane Conklin (Tonio in “La fille du regiment,” Rodolfo in “La boheme” and Rene in “The Count of Luxembourg”), Lauren Huyser (Mimi in “La boheme”), Robert Brown (Eisenstein in “The Bat”) and Stephanie Laut (Malika in “Lakme,” Cherubino in “Le nozze di Figaro” and Cenerentola in “La cenerentola”).
