The Frostburg State University Flute Studio will be celebrating French solo flute music on Monday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center.
Students will present solo and chamber works for flute and piano. The repertoire will include the popular “Madrigal” for flute and piano by Phillippe Gaubert, as well as the lovely “Berceuse” by Gabriel Fauré. Poulenc’s “Sonata for Flute and Piano” and Taffanel’s “Andante Pastoral et Scherzettino” will also be performed. The FSU Flute Ensemble will present the second half of the program. Taylor Eirich and Jessica Bussing will perform Harald Genzmer’s “Sonata in F-Sharp Minor for Two Flutes” and flute instructor Pamela Murchison will join them for Kummer’s “Trio, Op. 24.” The recital is free and open to the public.
