Frostburg State University Department of Music’s Faculty Artist Series presents Kristin Bacchiocchi-Stewart performing a flute recital at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, in FSU’s Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall.
Joining Bacchiocchi-Stewart will be guest pianist Timothy Hoft and FSU faculty clarinetist Mark Gallagher. Her repertoire will include pieces by Lukas Foss, Bela Bartok, Robert Muczynski, Johann Sebastian Bach, Michael Colquhoun and Philipp Gaubert.
Bacchiocchi-Stewart is the flute instructor at FSU. She also teaches woodwind methods classes and directs the flute ensemble. She was a prizewinner at the 2002 National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition, a winner of the 2000 NFA Masterclass Performers Competition, a participant in the Frist Beijing Nicolet International Flute Competition and has appeared as a semi-finalist in the Myrna Brown and Ducrest Young Artist Competitions. Bacchiocchi-Stewart is also a dedicated chamber musician. She has participated in the Aspen Music Festival, the Colorado College Music Festival and Zurich 2000 Masterclass series.
