The Roundabout Theatre at Frostburg State University will present the children's classic, "Charlotte's Web," at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21 in the Performing Arts Center's F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre.
This show for children of all ages is based on the childhood favorite by E.B. White. An affectionate, sometimes bashful pig named Wilbur befriends a spider named Charlotte, who lives in the rafters above his pen. Wilbur is devastated when he learns of the destiny that befalls his kind. Aided by Templeton, the rat, Charlotte learns her "A-B-C's" and spins a web that reads "Some Pig," convincing the farmer and surrounding community that Wilbur is no ordinary animal and should be saved. This story of a very special friendship reminds us to open our eyes to the wonder often found in the simplest of things.
Michael Abendshein, a student at FSU, will direct the all-student cast.
