Mary Plank of Hagerstown, a 2001 graduate of Frostburg State University's Master of Business Administration program, recently won the top prize in a national case competition for a marketing plan promoting Hagerstown's Discovery Station.
Sponsored by the Small Business Institute Directors' Association (SBIDA), the Annual National Field Case Competition recognizes outstanding students for faculty-guided practical consulting projects or "field cases" that serve clients who own or operate local business ventures or non-profit organizations.
The winning plan was Plank's final project for her MBA program and was completed under the guidance of Cathy Ashley-Cotleur. Plank and Ashley Cotleur recently returned from the 2002 SBDIA Annual National Conference in San Diego, where prizes were awarded.
SBIDA is the premier professional association of small business educators and researchers. Its mission is to strengthen the small business/entrepreneurship sector of the free enterprise system.
