Irish Tenors Return to Frostburg State University
The Irish Tenors return to the Cultural Events Series at Frostburg State University with “DRUID: Featuring the Irish Tenors,” a show that vibrantly captures the essence of the modern Irish spirit, an influence that has spread far beyond Ireland’s green countryside and island shores. Featuring the Irish Tenors, Ciaran Nagle, Jeremy Morgan, Robert Archibald, Kenneth O’Reagan and Simon Morgan, the show will be held in the Pealer Recital Hall in the Performing Arts Center at FSU on Wednesday, Feb. 24, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

“DRUID” is a musical journey from Ireland’s pre-Christian times through oppression, famine, emigration and the “Celtic Tiger” economy to finally rest on the hopes of the nation’s future. It is a celebration of passion for life, an epic tale of mankind’s determination and ability to shine through the face of strife and misfortune.

The performers in “DRUID” each possess an exceptional talent. Brought together, they form a cohesive musical and vocal unit that is mesmerizing and uplifting. It is a unique concert experience that is as much Irish as it is global. Backed by an 11-piece orchestra, the musical presentation encompasses a broad range of tunes, from traditional and ballads to pop and classical songs for the Irish and the Irish at heart.

The Irish Tenors performed their Christmas show two years ago at FSU to a sell-out audience. Tickets for “DRUID” are $22 for adults and $15 for young people under 17. Group rate tickets are also available. Tickets may be ordered by calling 301-687-3137or 1-866-849-9237, or by visiting ces.frostburg.edu.

DRUID is sponsored in part by the Country Club Mall and Best Western Braddock. The Cultural Events Series is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to non-profit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities. Funding for the Maryland State Arts Council is also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

Situated in the mountains of Allegany County, Frostburg State University is one of the 13 institutions of the University System of Maryland. FSU is a comprehensive, residential regional university and serves as an educational and cultural center for Western Maryland.
