The accolades continue to roll in for Frostburg State senior Krissy Jackson (Frostburg, Md./Beall)
, who was recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Atlantic Region All-America First Team.
Jackson, who also earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Year honors this year, is the first Bobcat to be named to the NFCA All-America team. She was selected as a utility player after splitting time as a catcher and shortstop.
Jackson capped her career with a stellar senior season. She led the Bobcats with a school-record .515 batting average, 35 hits, 10 doubles, four home runs, 28 RBIs, 57 total bases, a school-record .838 slugging percentage and a .607 on-base percentage. She also ranked third on the team with 22 runs and 15 walks.
Jackson was ranked ninth in doubles per game (0.43), 11th in batting average and 21st in RBIs per game (1.22) in the most recent NCAA Division III national rankings.
"This has definitely been Krissy's best season," said Bobcat head coach Becky Keller. "She has been a valuable asset to our team every year, and her talents will be greatly missed."
Jackson graduates as the school's career leader in games played (105), at bats (305), RBIs (83) and walks (40). She is tied for first in hits (108) and ranks second in runs (78) and doubles (20). She is also in the top five in career triples (5), home runs (5), total bases (153), batting average (.354), slugging percentage (.502) and stolen bases (15).
