— Frostburg State senior Kelly Jones(Woodbine, Md./Glenelg)
and junior Erin Carraghan (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville)
were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer Goalie and Player of the Week on Monday.
Jones, who was also Goalkeeper of the Week October 18, was in the net for both of FSU’s tournament wins. In the semifinal round of the AMCC tournament, Jones recorded one save in the 2-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg earning her fourth shutout this season. In the championship game, Jones had nine saves as the Bobcats defeated Penn State Behrend 3-2 in double overtime and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Jones improves her record to 10-2-1 and was named to the All-AMCC second team as a goalkeeper.
Carraghan scored a pair of goals in the AMCC playoffs to help the Bobcats to their fourth consecutive conference title. She scored the game-winning goal in the championship game against Penn State Behrend and also netted a goal in the semifinal win over Pitt-Greensburg. Carraghan was also named to the All-AMCC second team as a midfielder and is currently fourth on the team with seven goals.
