- Sophomore Karen Kotofski (Northeast/Glen Burnie, Md.)
was named to the 2002 Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District II Second Team for women's soccer. Kotofski is a Early Childhood/Elementary Education major carrying a 3.615 G.P.A.
Kotofski was also one of only two sophomore's selected for the Second Team as no sophomores were selected for the first team. Karen again this season leads the Bobcats in most statistical categories for the second year in a row.
As a freshman Kotofski broke the single season goal record as she netted 21 goals, at the same time claiming the single season point record as she totaled 49 points. This season Kotofski was slowed early by a leg injury which caused her to miss the first five games of the season. However upon her return she scored eight goals in her first three games in which FSU went 2-0-1. In the tie she scored all three of the Bobcat goals.
On the season Karen leads the team in goals (14) shots (66) and points (29) as they head into the semifinals of the AMCC conference tournament this weekend. Last season Karen lead the Bobcats to their first AMCC conference championship ever.
