- Junior Karen Kotofski (Northeast/Glen Burnie, Md.)
has led the 2003 Bobcats team to its best season in program history as they recently advanced to the Regional Semifinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time.
Nationally, Kotofski ranks among the nations best as she is in the top thirty in both goals per game and points per game. Through the regular season and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament she has compiled 22 goals and 49 points, both FSU single-season records.
As of November 9th, Kotofski’s 1.22 goals per game ties her for 13th in the nation and her 2.72 points per game ranks her tied for 22nd. Since the last nation statistical rankings came out she has added to both of those marks.
Against Westminster College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Kotofski recorded two more goals raising her averages to 1.26 goals per game and 2.79 points per game, which would move her into a tie for 12th in goals and 18th in points.
Kotofski, who has guided the Bobcats to their current school-record winning-streak of 12 matches, has recorded 10 goals in her last five contests. This season she has set new school records in career goals (62) and career points (138), along with her single-season marks of 24 goals and 53 points.
Kotofski and the Bobcats return to action this Saturday November 15th as they take on Scranton at 5:00 p.m. in Allentown, Pa. on the campus of Muhlenburg College in the regional semifinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
