Lacrosse Blasts Bridgewater

FROSTBURG, MD. — Behind the offensive muscle of senior Andrea Duffy (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.), the Bobcats,(5-4), led 10-5 at the half before adding eight more goals in the second stanza to finish-off Bridgewater 18-6.

In her final home game at FSU, Duffy added six goals and an assist.

Duffy opened up scoring when she found the net at 1:10. Within one minute, freshman Kelley Duncan (C.Milton Wright/Bel Air, Md.) found the net off an assist from freshman Stefanie Ritz (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) before Duffy nailed her second goal of the day at 2:05 off an assist from sophomore Page Macey (North County/Linthicum, Md.), who had five assists on the day.

At 3:33, Duncan scored again off an assist from Macey and then freshman Kate Nicol (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg) scored at 5:43 off another Macey assist. Duncan found the net again at 5:58, before Sarah Pritchett notched a goal on the board for the Eagles at 8:04 and teammate Neil Bodani followed with a goal at 9:19.

Now up 6-2, Duffy scored again at 16:34, was briefly interrupted by another Pritchett goal at 19:32, then notched another one for the Bobcats at 21:12.

Megan Malehorn scored one for Bridgewater at 27:33, but Macey answered at 28:07. Freshman Caitlin Howley (Damascus/Damascus, Md.) scored her loan goal on the day at 29:17, off another Macey assist.

Under a minute later, Bodani found the net again, capping scoring for the first half.

Within the first five and a half minutes of the second half, Ritz scored her three goals on the day, with an assist from Duffy and one from Macey.

Now up 13-5, Nicol and Duncan scored and Duffy notched her sixth on the day. Macey scored her second with 17:00 left before Duncan found her fourth on the day at 23:45 off an assist from Nicol.

The Eagles added one more goal at 27:09, before bowing-out to the Bobcats, 18-6.

The Bobcats also retired seniors Kim Faust (Upper Dublin/Amber, Pa.) and Katie Binder (Mercy/Baltimore, Md.).

Frostburg State,(5-5), returns to action on Wednesday, April 16th when it visits Notre Dame (Md.) at 4:30 p.m.
