Little Hits 1,000-Point Plateau to Help Power Women's Basketball Past Penn State Altoona

Junior Tracey Little (La Vale, Md./Allegany)
and freshman Tracie George (Windber, Pa./Windber)
each scored 19 points to power Frostburg State past visiting Penn State Altoona 77-54 in an AMCC contest Wednesday night at Bobcat Arena.
The Bobcats, who snapped a three-game losing streak, improved to 14-10 overall and 5-6 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, while the Lions fell to 4-17 overall and 3-8 in the AMCC.
Little's final basket of the evening - with 3:29 left - gives her 1,001 points for her career. She is just the 12th player in FSU women's basketball history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Little grabbed 10 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the year and added three assists and three blocks.
Sophomore Kelly True (Warfordsburg, Pa./Southern Fulton had 12 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks, while junior Jamie Cable (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) had 12 points, five assists, three rebounds and two blocks.
The Bobcats jumped out to a double-digit lead early as they held a 19-8 advantage with 12:01 remaining. Their lead grew to as many as 16 in the first half, as George had 14 of her 19 points in the opening stanza.
The Lions could not get any closer than 13 in the second half as the Bobcats continued to pile it on, leading by as many as 29 with 1:06 remaining in the contest.
Tara Shock led Penn State Altoona with 11 points and nine rebounds. Elease Jones was the only other Lion to reach double-figures with 10 points.
The Bobcats will return to action in their regular-season finale as they travel to La Roche Saturday at 4 pm.
