Frostburg State senior Ronald Luczak (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone)
was honored as the Atlantic Central Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his outstanding effort in the Bobcats' heartbreaking 24-21 loss to Waynesburg on Saturday.
Luczak, a 6-2, 230-pound lineman, posted 14 tackles — all solos — including five for losses and a career-high four sacks, but the Bobcats fell on a 35-yard field goal as time expired.
Salisbury freshman quarterback Dustin Johnson was named the ACFC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 181 yards and a touchdown and completing 3-of-5 passes for 41 yards and another score in a 30-13 win over Ferrum.
Wesley freshman linebacker Bryan Sorenson earned the ACFC Rookie of the Week award after posting eight tackles, including five solos, two for losses and a sack, in a 42-0 shutout of Chowan.
