Lutz and Feller Receive Top AMCC Weekly Honors

FROSTBURG, MD - Senior Brent Lutz (Central/Toms Brook, Va.) and junior Scott Feller (American Heritage/Boca Raton, Fla.) were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week and Player of the Week, respectively, Monday for their individual performances over the past week.

Lutz, who has a win in each of his last four appearances, went five and two-thirds innings against Penn State Behrend on March 27th combining with Collin Bednar for the complete game shutout.

Against perennial nation power Southern Maine, Lutz went all seven innings allowing one run on seven hits. He struck out eight and walked only one in the victory.

Lutz allowed only six hits while striking out five lowering his ERA to 3.52, which ranks him fourth in the conference. Over his last four starts he has allowed only four runs in 22 innings pitched with 24 strikeouts and a 1.64 ERA, after starting the season allowing five runs in only one inning pitched.

He also ranks in the top five in the AMCC with 24 strikeouts and 23 innings pitched, while leading the conference with four wins, four walks allowed, and only nine runs allowed.

Feller, who is riding a career-high 15-game hitting streak, is leading the conference with 34 hits, 28 RBI, nine doubles, three homeruns, and 54 total bases. He leads the team and ranks second and third in the conference with a .659 slugging percentage and a .415 batting average.

In the past week, he hit .353 with eight RBI, including two against Penn State Behrend in a 6-2 victory of the second game of the doubleheader. He also recorded three RBI in a 6-3 victory over Millikin University in Tampa, FL.

The Bobcats, who were recently ranked tied for eighth in Mid-Atlantic region in the first American Baseball Coaches Association poll, will return to action Wednesday, March 31st against Juniata College, who is ranked sixth in the region.
