CAPE COD, MA —
Frostburg State junior Page Macey (Linthicum, Md./North County)
and senior Sarah Shockley (Fallston, Md./Fallston)
were named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Southern Women’s Lacrosse All-Stars Monday.
Macey was voted to the first team after leading the Bobcats with 52 goals this past season, which ties her career high she set as a freshman in 2002.
She added 26 assists to finish with a career-high 78 points, and she tied for 15th in the nation with 5.2 points per game.
She was an ECAC honorable mention selection in 2003.
Macey, who also earned Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association South Atlantic Second Team honors this season, has 148 career goals, 34 shy of the school record held by Maggie Murphy.
Shockley was named to the ECAC second team for the second year in a row. She started all of FSU’s 15 games and posted a 10-5 overall record with a 9.23 goals against average.
She ranked 14th in the country with a .580 save percentage, making 188 saves and allowing 136 goals.
"Page and Sarah both had great seasons and were big parts of our success this past year," said first-year head coach Nicole Bonvouloir. "It’ll be nice to hav e Page back for one more year, but we’ll miss Sarah’s leadership and ability in net."
FSU finished 10-5 overall, its best record since a 14-3 showing in 1992.
The Bobcats, who dropped four games to teams ranked in the national top 15, won their first seven games of 2004, their longest winning streak since a 13-game run in 1992.
