FROSTBURG, MD -
Frostburg State University head baseball coach and associate athletic director Chris McKnight was recently named Chairperson of the NCAA Baseball Rules Committee.
McKnight, who has served the last five years at FSU, will replace long-time University of Virginia head baseball coach and current assistant athletic director Dennis Womack, whose term expires in September.
McKnight will serve as chair for one year.
In his position with the NCAA Baseball Rules Committee, McKnight will be responsible for communicating with committee members issues and special circumstances requiring action during the year.
McKnight, who earlier this summer was appointed to the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region selection committee for the 2005 season, has guided the Bobcats to a 120-76-1 (.612) overall record, one AMCC Tournament title (2004), one ECAC appearance (2001) and three AMCC Tournament runner-up showings in five seasons as head coach.
