Dr. Linda Schmidt, associate professor of mechanical engineering at University of Maryland, College Park, will present a seminar at Frostburg State University titled "Creating Design Machines for Machine Design" on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. in room 103 of the Engineering Annex Building adjacent to Tawes Hall.
Schmidt will present an overview of the Designer Assistance Tool Lab (DATLab) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland. The DATLab was established in 1999 to provide state-of-the-art fundamental research and implementation strategies to improve the quality of design processes and outcomes for designers operating in professional and educational environments.
