PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Four players scored in double figures as Frostburg State defeated La Roche 72-71 in overtime in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action, Wednesday evening.

Junior Antione McCall (Essex, Md./Eastern Tech) scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bobcats. He has helped spark FSU’s recent turnaround, scoring in double figures in four-straight contests.

With FSU trailing by five, 61-56 with 2:16 left in the second half, the visitors scored eight-straight points over the next minute and a half for a 64-61 lead. However, Kostorick tied the ballgame with a three-pointer with 28 seconds remaining.

Frostburg State had a late opportunity to earn the win after Green stole the ball from a Redhawk player with four seconds left. However, his off balance shot missed and the game headed into overtime.

In the extra session, McCall led FSU with four points including the game-winning layup. Freshman Paul Shockley (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) missed a shot with 15 seconds remaining and McCall scored off the rebound to give the Bobcats the win.

Both teams battled for much of the first half, which saw seven lead changes and four ties. Frostburg State led by as much as seven, 24-17, at 4:56 but watched as LAR scored the game’s next eight points for a 25-24 lead with 2:21 to play. The Bobcats would regain the lead, 29-25, after scoring five unanswered points to close out the half.

The second half proved to be much like the first with eight lead changes and six ties. Frostburg State took its largest lead, 52-48, at 9:30 when McCall made a pair of free throws.
