Junior Mike Replogle (Union Bridge, Md./Francis Scott Key)
finished 54th out of 204 runners to lead Frostburg State to an 11th-place showing at the 17-team Lebanon Valley Invitational Saturday.
Replogle turned in a solid time of 29:25.75 despite running in high heat on the 8,050-meter course, 50 meters longer than the usual distance. Freshman Sy Farris (Fort Ashby, W.Va./Frankfort) wasn't far behind, placing 60th overall in 29:35.80.
Freshman Kevin Ripple (Mechanicsville, Md./Leonardtown) ran a 29:57.11 to place 76th, while fellow freshman John Densmore (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) was 89th (30:22.87).
Sophomore Brian Gallagher (Burke, Va./East Lake Hall (Fla.)) closed out the FSU scoring with his 98th-place finish in 30:44.02.
The Bobcats scored 293 team points and were barely edged for tenth place by host Lebanon Valley, which posted 292 points.
The College of New Jersey placed five runners in the top seven to win easily with 19 points. Dickinson College was second (79), followed by Messiah (100), Gettysburg (104) and SUNY-Delhi (174).
Frostburg State returns to action on Saturday, September 22nd in the New York University Invitational.
