GREENSBORO, NC –
Frostburg State ended its regular-season with a 4-1 loss to host Greensboro College Saturday afternoon. Senior R.J. Purnell (Crisfield/Crisfield, Md.)
scored the only goal for the Bobcats at 18:26 in the second half.
Greensboro’s first goal was in the opening half at 40:59 when Davis Boyle found the net off an assist from Duncan Edwards.
With 1:45 remaining, Scott Memming scored for Greensboro off an assist from Buddy Forward, notching the score to 2-0. Less than a minute later, the Pride went up 3-0 when Aaron Holcomb scored off an assist from Edwards.
In the second half, Greensboro’s Jason Papaj found the net at 11:24 off another assist from Edwards.
In the 63rd minute Purnell scored on a penalty kick.
The Pride outshot the Bobcats 17-2
The Bobcats, now 8-8-2, return to action on Wednesday, November 5th, when they play at Pitt-Greensburg in the Semifinals of the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships at 3 p.m.
