Men's Soccer Dumps Mt. Aloysius in AMCC Contest

FROSTBURG, MD - Senior Matt Moffa (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) netted two goals to lead the Frostburg State men’s soccer team to an 8-0 victory over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mt. Aloysius Wednesday afternoon.

The Bobcats won their third straight game to improve to 4-6 overall and 2-0 in the AMCC, while the Mounties fell to 0-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Senior Wyatt Sagers (La Plata, Md./La Plata) started the scoring with a goal just two minutes into play. Moffa netted his first goal of the day in the 21st minute. Eighteen minutes later, senior Kodjo Gnatiko (Montgomery Village, Md./Montgomery Blair) found the net off a feed from junior Jeff Bisker (Fallston, Md./Fallston) to give FSU a 3-0 lead at the half.

The Bobcats continued to pour it on early in the second half, netting three goals in five minutes. Moffa started things off in the 51st minute when he scored on a penalty kick. Sophomore Kenny Dotter (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) then scored in the 54th minute, and Gregg Laskow (Plainsboro, N.J./WWP-North (Rider)) found the net in the 56th minute.

Sophomore Bryan Lee (Silver Spring, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) made it a 7-0 contest by scoring an unassisted goal at 65:29. Freshman Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) capped the scoring at 84:31 off a feed from senior Ricky Bockari (Willingboro, N.J./Holy Cross).

Senior Bryn Varhol (Alexandria, Va./Bishop O'Connell) started the game and picked up his fourth win of the season after posting 45 scoreless minutes. Freshman Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) played the entire second half and picked up one save to complete the shutout.

Frostburg State returns to action Saturday, October 1 as it travels to Medaille for another AMCC contest beginning at 3:00 pm.
